Write to the circle

The book is sung in public and corrected in public. If a number is misheard, if a name is spelled the way the label got it wrong, if a date belongs to a different session, or if the book has not yet sung a corner of the gospel landscape it should have, the circle wants the note.

What travels best

The most useful mail carries three things: a name, a place and a date. A choir remembered from a Tampa Sunday, a quartet that came through a family church, a record kept on a shelf for thirty years: those are the numbers the book is made of. Photographs of programs, labels and choir loft rosters travel well as attachments.

Where it goes

Everything reaches the same circle: [email protected]. Mail is read by the keeper, not filtered through a form. A correction that checks out runs with its own date, the way a good tunebook keeps its amendments.

What the circle cannot do

The book sings about gospel music and the people who sing it. It cannot book choirs, sell recordings, pass messages to ministries, or carry announcements. And because it is a reader's tunebook rather than the archive of any one church, requests that ask the circle to speak for a congregation or an artist are respectfully declined.
